Apply for a Youth Enrichment Scholarship
Scholarship funds have been exhausted for the 2023-2024 school year and the application has been closed. Look for the 2024-2025 application on July 1st.
Hopkins Community Ed is dedicated to meeting lifelong learning needs for all Hopkins School District residents and students enrolled in Hopkins Public Schools. All of the scholarship aid available has been contributed by Hopkins families, supportive community members, and Hopkins businesses. The amount of scholarship is limited and is intended to serve as a temporary resource.
Hopkins Community Education scholarship funds can only be used towards the cost of Hopkins Youth Enrichment classes and Camp Royal Camps (up to 50%). Funds cannot be applied to Adult courses or events. One request per family per season/catalog will be considered. Classes and camps will be paid at a maximum of 50% not to exceed $50 per catalog/season per student. Maximum of $150 per year per student.

Please complete the Hopkins Community Education Scholarship application online or visit us in person at the Community Education Office at 1001 Highway 7, Suite 170 in Hopkins. Printed applications can be emailed to community.education@hopkinsschools.org.
All Scholarship requests must be made through the application. Information provided in the scholarship application will be kept confidential. In order to fairly assess a family's eligibility, all information requested must be complete or your application will not be processed.

ECFE will offer summer classes May - July (week of July 4 off). Offering 8 weeks of classes helps to keep our families connected, engaged with the community, and busy during the summer. Summer Classes include:
- Infant (4 weeks May - June & 4 weeks June -July)
- 1-2's (8 week May - July), 2-3's (8 week May - July)
- 3-5's Preschool Readiness (8 weeks May- July)
- Parents Preparing for Preschool (virtual) - 6 week
- Stay and Play Out Door Fun - (8 week May -July)
- Stay and Play Indoor Fun - (8 week May -July)
Hopkins Summer Preschool
Hopkins Summer Preschool has many options that fit your family's needs: 2.5 hour programs, 4 hour programs, or a full day care option that offers 5 days / week from 7am-5pm. Your student will enjoy a summer adventure with new friends and engaging learning activities. Programming designed for preschoolers aged 3-5 years old.
Currently attending 2023-4 Preschool Families: registration is open from February 21 at 8:00 a.m. - February 28 at 11:59 a.m.
In-District Families: registration is open from February 28 at 12:00 p.m. to March 4 at 7:59 a.m. (In-district also means families with currently attending ISD270 open-enrolled older siblings - please check YES to that question while registering.)
Out-of-District Families/All Families: registration opens at March 4 at 8:00 a.m.

Camp Royal: Grades K-5
Camp Royal
Join us at Camp Royal!
Camp Royal provides high-quality summer programming for scholars entering kindergarten through fifth grade in an inclusive, caring environment. Our campers will develop curiosity, exploration, and creativity while building meaningful connections with other children and adults.
Our Monday-Thursday camps are designed around half-day blocks, with drop-off times starting at 8:30 a.m., and pick-up by 4:30 p.m. Sign up for a full or half day.
Explore art, sports, science and technology (STEM), cooking, pottery, crafts, or digital skills in a supportive environment.

We've priced our camps at an affordable price point for families. Payment plans are available at registration.
We are committed to equal access for all Hopkins Public Schools students. If you are concerned about pricing, limited scholarships for activities are available. Please fill out the Scholarship Application prior to registering.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Hopkins School Nutrition June 17 to August 8. Registration for breakfast or lunch is not required. Parents and Guardians should see the School Nutrition website for the meal calendar.
Payment Plans and Cancellation Policy
We realize many families will be signing up for multiple weeks and would like a payment plan option. Payment plans are available at registration.
We will gladly refund your class registration fee if you cancel and request a refund five business days prior to the first class, minus a $5 cancellation fee.
We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In that case, we will contact you and make arrangements to refund your class fee.

We take all of the fun from our school-year Kids & Company child care program and add in clubs, theme days, service learning, maker space fun, STEM, leadership opportunities, and special events!
Online contract requests are on first-come, first-serve. Summer Kids & Company schedule changes will be free until the deadline of May 15th.

Royal Learning Academy: Grades 1-5
Join us at Royal Learning Academy!
Classes are taught by licensed teachers and are designed to support academic and social skills in a fun atmosphere. Our goal is to provide a program that enhances student engagement, creates meaningful experiences, builds relationships, and supports students’ academic goals. The curriculum is well thought out and designed to meet the academic needs of your student. Student voice (and choice) is an important aspect of engaged learning. Scholars are required to attend 6 full weeks. Funding for your child’s participation is provided by the State of Minnesota’s Targeted Services program. Participation is optional and at the discretion of parents. Please confirm enrollment as soon as possible as classes fill quickly! Scholars must qualify for Royal Learning Academy and must have been invited.

About BLinK
BLinK (Building Leadership in Kids) is a summer program specially designed for youth entering grades 5-6. Join BLinK for challenge activities, open gym, recreation room, service learning projects, and leadership opportunities — all designed with the tween in mind!

Freedom School: Grades 4-9
CDF Freedom Schools is a program that focuses on providing scholars with a “healthy start, a fair start, a safe start and a moral start in life and a successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities” - CDF Freedom Schools. Freedom School will provide a summer of research based and multi-cultural curriculum for scholars entering grades 4-9 and their families. The number of spots available for grade 4 and 5 is limited.
The five essential components of the program are enrichment, parent and family involvement, civic engagement, and social action. Families are committed to participate in the CDF Freedom School summer program, also commit to weekly Parent Empowerment sessions as well, where we connect as a community and support each other while meeting the needs of our scholars.
Freedom School 2024 Programming Dates:

- No programming on June 19 and July 4.
High School Credit Recovery
With class offerings that support scholar graduation requirements. Scholars will experience learning through a variety of models which includes on and off campus experiences.

Teen Activities
Our teen summer program encourages greater independence and character development as they meet new friends, develop new skills, and explore their passions. Teens will discover new talents and connect with friends in safe and inclusive spaces.
Teen opportunities include:
- Sports options pickleball and tennis.
- Middle school cooking, pottery, and dance classes.
- Drivers Education classes throughout the summer to build safe and responsible teen drivers.
Registration for summer 2024 will open on February 1 at 8pm.
