Minnesota Governor visits Alice Smith Elementary

Students and staff at Alice Smith Elementary School welcomed Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan to the building on May 4. The Minnesota leaders addressed the importance of funding our schools and thanked our teachers for their dedication to our students in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day.

 

Superintendent Mhiripiri-Reed also spoke about the importance of summer programs and early childhood education. After the press conference was complete, students were delighted to spend some time with the Governor out on the playground.
