Post Spring Break Reminders for Those Who Traveled

As a reminder, if you traveled last week, Hopkins Public Schools strongly recommends that you and your scholars test for COVID 3-5 days upon your return to Minnesota -- this also applies to those who are fully vaccinated. This recommendation is based on guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the CDC. You can find free COVID-19 saliva testing sites here.

The Minnesota Department of Health also recommends that unvaccinated individuals who traveled quarantine for a period of 14 days after returning to Minnesota. While Hopkins Public Schools will not be able to monitor the travel or self-quarantining activities of our families and staff, we do ask that those who traveled consider the community spread in the area they visited, their ability to socially distance during their stay, and whether their close contacts have had the opportunity to get vaccinated.

Quarantining is not recommended for those who received their second vaccination more than two weeks before travel.

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we want to continue our in-person learning models. We appreciate your partnership in helping us end the school year Hopkins Strong!
