In 2018, a student group called the Royal Reps students interviewed 300+ families on how they'd like to see Hopkins reimagine public education. Redefining Student Success Metrics (e.g., test scores, grades, GPA), was at the top of this list. After a series of task forces convened between 2018-2021, our data team interviewed nearly 100 (mostly Hopkins) community members on what it means to be successful in and after E-12 education. Interviewees discussed things like critical thinking and empathy; barriers to reimagining student success metrics; and a future of rigorous, student-centered, growth-based metrics. If you’re interested, you can learn more in the executive summary and full report. Stay tuned for our next steps in 2024-25!
